Janakpur Bolts Face Kathmandu Gurkhas in Opening Match

Kathmandu: The second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) begins today, with the opening match between Janakpur Bolts and Kathmandu Gurkhas scheduled at 4 pm at the Tribhuvan University Ground in Kirtipur.

32 Matches to Be Played Over 27 Days
All matches of the season will take place at the TU Ground in afternoon and evening slots. The tournament, running from Mangsir 1 to 27, will feature 32 games, including the league stage, three playoff matches, and the final.

Eight franchise teams — Janakpur Bolts, Sudurpaschim Royals, Karnali Yaks, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gurkhas, and Lumbini Lions — are participating this year.

Ticket Prices Announced for Fans
For the opening match, general tickets are priced at Rs 500 and premium at Rs 1,500. For league-stage day matches, ticket prices remain Rs 500 for general and Rs 1,000 for premium.

For playoff matches, regular tickets cost Rs 1,000 and premium tickets Rs 2,000. CAN has also introduced a one-time seasonal ticket priced at Rs 15,000 for the entire tournament.

Tuesday Matches Set
On the second day of the tournament, Chitwan Rhinos will take on Karnali Yaks in the first match, followed by Biratnagar Kings facing Pokhara Avengers in the evening fixture.
